I was watching the livestream too and when they announced that Small would continue all I kept seeing people (especially one guy 😒) to get rid of him. It was annoying

Christopher Bell introducing Chase Briscoe is a nice touch from JGR. Something else interesting is Bob Pockrass asked Coach Gibbs if he had plans to bring the #18 back and he said there are no plans at this time to bring the #18 back. Gibbs probably felt that Kyle Busch has left such a lasting legacy for the #18 car, in addition to Dale Jarrett and Bobby Labonte, that he is probably saving the number for when the time is right. Likely waiting until Denny Hamlin retires and brings the #11 to 23XI and then maybe the #18 will return with a new driver.

I might be the only Truex fan left that still supports James Small but I do. Chase might be my driver next year because James is remaining as the crew chief. I can't begin to tell you how badly that I want James to be successful with Chase and prove the haters wrong. I'm leaning strongly toward Briscoe and Bubba being my drivers next year.

Okay, I'm glad it wasn't just me with the weirdly glitchy stream. Thought my internet was dying once again (no joke, we had squirrels earlier this month knock out our internet). Glad this all worked out very well for Chase Briscoe! I've said this in another video, but he's grown on me so much over the past few seasons. He's got a lot of talent/potential, he's grown and matured considerably, and he's a hard worker, so I'm glad to see how much support and backing he has here (surprised and happy to see Bass Pro Shop sticking with the #19). One thing that came up during this interview was how Joe Gibbs himself would reach out to Briscoe after they started talking telling him how much he wanted him in that #19 and how motivating that was for him to hear that. Just another example of how teams like JGR and Hendrick have been so successful compared to SHR because they have leaders who are active and a huge part of that team and not just a name on the building.

I think Chase will do very well with JGR equipment. I'm just wondering if him and his new crew chief will gel well together

I'm actually very happy that the entire team is staying together. They are all familiar with each other, and it's just the driver blending in. They'll be ready next year. Don't think he'll (Chase) be getting in the dirt for a couple, few years.

Briscoe is solid enough. I expect he’ll be fast but not Truex fast. He’ll win a race here and there but won’t be great. Likely be the worst JGR car for 2-4 years and get replaced. James Small cost MTJ many races and at least one championship. He’s an idiot and I don’t understand how he is still the Crew chief.

Speaking of bass pro maybe they know something we don’t, maybe they’re pulling sponsorship of Austin Dillon and RCR or even that Austin Dillon might move out of the 3 cad after this year, just speculation though

I have doubted most of James smalls, pit calls, and strategies and I really hope that we will see better decisions with chase Briscoe at the wheel. Some of it might have been Martin Truax and what he has gone through and put the team through in the last three years, but I have been one of the huge daughters of James smalls and I hope that he and chase Briscoe Jill as a team And really, really really really make the doubters, including myself be very satisfied. I think this is an excellent fit for chase Briscoe.

Honestly I dont see what everyone else sees in briscoe. It feels like whenever he is in a position to win he makes a bone head move. I feel like he will be like jones or saurez was in JGR. But time will tell.

Noah Gragson and RCR bringing back the 27 car would be nice to see that car back on track

Even though he wasnt my first thought for Truex replacement, i think it fits. He wont be as good as Truex from the start, but i expect him to make the playoffs and could become a Championship contender in a few years.

It could go horrible for the 19 team. If Briscoe isn't as good as Truex Jr, and if Truex was the only reason for that teams little bit of succes and not James Small. There could be major problems
